CAST Info / Updates

Good afternoon. Enjoy the following CAST updates!!

SWIM CAPS:

Silicon CAST caps are available. They are $17.  We have them at the Kroc pool.  You can pay by cash / check / or Venmo. Venmo might be the easiest and saves the coaches from having to keep track of who paid what. Our Venmo is: @CollegeAeaSwimTeam-CAST . If you pay with Venmo please just have your swimmer show a screen shot and we can give them the caps at practice.

WE NEED OFFICIALS . . .

A recent meet was on the verge of being cancelled for lack of swimming officials. At this point many of our CAST officials have “graduated” with their swimmers and we are perilously low – especially in the 12 & Under groups.

Officials are necessary in order to hold a sanctioned swim meet.  Teams are expected to help and to have working officials at meets. The failure of a team to have any working officials while entering a larger number of swimmers at a meet can also result in assessments against the team.

We would like to encourage parental involvement and investment in your child’s swimming experience. Please consider becoming an official. You can wear white before and after Labor Day, you’ll get free food (after COVID), and you can proudly help make swimming and swim meets a fabulous experience.

A new Officials Stroke & Turn Clinic will be offered via Google Meet the next three weeks from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesdays:  May 12, 19, and 26.

This clinic is for new officials that have not taken the clinic to fulfill the requirements or for someone who may be interested in becoming a San Diego Imperial Swim Official. Link: Google Meet - Officials Stroke & Turn Clinic

If you would like to attend – and we encourage everyone who is interested - sign in on the  Officials Clinic Doodle Poll adding your CAST affiliation to the end of your name. Please also RSVP to John Smigal our SI Officials Chair at john.a.m.smigal@gmail.com

Have a great rest of your week. Let us know if you have questions.
