ICE SKATING - FUN NIGHT:
We are lucky enough to have an ice rink right next to our pool. So we're going to take advantage of it. On Tuesday 12-21 instead of swimming, we're going skating. This is during their open skate period 5:00-7:00 pm. It is optional, family and friends-bring them along. I have not recieved an answer back (but hope to in the next 48 hours) whether or not they will give us a group discount. currently the fee is $15 for non-kroc members, and $12 for kroc members which includes skate rental. I will let you know in the next day or two if they will give us a discount. Hope to see you there.
USA Swimming - 2022 memberships
Every swimmer on the team needs to have a USA swimming membership. Memberships expire at the end of each year. I will be handling any necessary renewals on 12-22-21. Some swimmers who just joined in the fall OR swimmers who previously had a flex membership that was upgraded to a full membership after September 1st will already be registered for 2022. In the next few days I will be going through the process of seeing who has and doesn't have a 2022 membership and will be renewing those memberships. This is done in a batch file, electronically. Here are things you need to be aware of:
1) There are 3 types of membership: Flex - $20 - it is a full membership, but allows only 2 swim meets before you must upgrade to a full membership. Full - $76 - annual membership, no restrictions. Outreach - $7 - a full membership -discounted to reach a broader demographic range of families.
1) If we got you a membership this fall, or we renew your membership in the coming week, you will be charged for that membership and it will be part of your January 1st billing.
2) Please see the current registration list to see your swimmer's current registration status. you can see the type of membership as well as whether it expires on 12/31/21 or 12/31/22.
3) If you qualify for an "outreach" membership - See page 2 here.then please get page 2 of this form to me prior to the 22nd so I can register you at the discounted rate of only $7 per swimmer.
WAG meet information
The Winter Age Group (WAG) championships is upon us. This is a heats and finals meet. The meet is in a brand new venue in Oceanside (Opened Aug 21st-2021) 3306 Senior Center Drive Oceanside. This is the first ever USA swim meet at the facility. Here are the entered swimmers and their events. Be aware that non-traffic driving time is 50-60 minutes, and Monday morning will likely have more traffic. In case anyone is interested there are a courtyard and residence inn hotel within 1/2 mile that i just noticed (no idea of price or availability).
Being a heats and finals championship meet, those who make finals are expected to compete in finals. With a 3-5 hour break between your morning and evening swims, you will need to plan accordingly.
Facility Map - Please note that there is no parent or swimmer parkingin the yellow area. Swimmers can be dropped off, but parking is in the blue area.
Warmups: If your events are scheduled after 11:00 am, please talk directly with your coach to see if you can show up to the pool at a later time. Otherwise we will expect you at the times listed below:
12&U: Be on deck by 8:05 am. meet starts 9:30
13&O: be on deck by 7:25 am (the general info sheet was not correct, we are in the water at 7:40). Meet starts at 8:30
Finals warmups TBA each day. check with your coach before you leave the pool deck when you are to be back next....it might be for finals, it might be for a relay (end of finals), it might be the following morning......check.
Distance events - not pre-seeded, swimmers must check in.
Looks like we have been blessed with zero work assignments from meet admin. I will put up something regarding canopies transportation - tonight. We will probably be first on the list to help with jobs that meet admin forgot to assign, so we'll let you know if that happens.
