CAST meet info
General information - warmup and timing assignments
Estimated timelines - for estimation only
Pool Deck Map showing available coaching canopy areas as well as team canopy areas.
CAST families - for swimmers in the meet - we have first warmup. Please be in the team area by 6:45 am. We know that is early but we have early water time since we're the host team.
Thank you for all who attended the Wed night online meeting. BTW Janie Chantavuong was the winner of the Speedo backpack. I am gratefull for all of the volunteers who signed up to help. If you weren't able to make the zoom meeting. the quick rundown is that the meet is pretty big --- 600 swimmers total with 500 on Saturday and 440 on Sunday.
Current estimated timeline is 1:40 Saturday and 1:00 on Sunday. Hopefully the 12 lanes of competition will go smoothly and on time.
This means a few things like:
3 warmup sessions (we have the early one since we're hosting)
A few extra jobs had to be added (like snack bar "grillers"), and some of the jobs will have some time added to them to accomodate the hour I didn't plan for. whether you have kids in the meet or not, we could use your help with an hour or two of the 250 volunteer hours it takes to keep everything running smoothly.
I will be making time adjustments tomorrow, so if you have signed up for a job, please check the job listings after 3 pm on thur... if you had an hour job it may go another 15 or 20 min....if you were later in the morning and 2 people had jobs before you, since they will be bumped a little then both your start and end times will be different. - so again - just check after 3pm on Thur. to see what changes were made.
Thanks again for all of your support!
One last thing - we are still in need of Officials. Anyone wanting to train to become an official, let me know. the first thing it involves is standing next to a real official at a few meets while they explain what they are looking for (it's called "shadowing an official") - and you get to learn all of the rules while you watch kids swim.
