New Coach on Deck
As you are probably aware , Coach Cassidy left CAST at the end of June (she will be back on deck to help out on Saturday at the meet this weekend). I had found her replacement back in March, but he didn't move to San Diego until mid July. If you've been around the pool deck, you may have met Coach Ben Butler. He comes to us from Nebraska, where he was coaching high school aged A and B swimmers. He will be working with swimmers in Novice through AG3. After he gets a feel for those levels over the next few weeks, we'll discuss possible changes for the arrangement of those levels for the fall. Our scheduling will likely be very similar to the current practice times, but we may be adjusting things in order to provide the best progression of swimmers on the team.
End of Summer Break
The last meet of the summer is on Aug 21st. It is all ages and all levels. It is for anyone who wants to attend. After that, we will be taking a two week break from the pool from August 22 through Sept 6th. We may have some unofficial activities during the break, which we will keep you updated on.
