SWIM-O-RAMA
SWIM-O-RAMA is a swim for laps or pledges fundraiser. The swimmers will have a few weeks to gather pledges and on Friday September 23 will swim as many laps as they can in 1 hour. We will need parent volunteers to counts laps and maybe bring some snacks for afterwards. More details and forms will follow but if you would like to start gathering your pledges now, please do so. Prizes will be awarded after all monies are turned in. Details, forms, and information will be sent out soon.
SR & SD Notes
- Practice starts at 4:15. We are in the water at 4:30.
- I know school end times are changing; if you foresee a difficulty being at the pool at 4:15 and / or in the water at 4:30 talk to me.
- There will be short dry land on T and Th. Practice ends those days at 6:15. Running shoes and appropriate clothing should be worn.
- All swimmers must have a water bottle on deck during practice.
- If you are a high school student, sophomore+ and have questions about college or swimming in college I am available to talk.
- Swimming in college sites to consider:
- SrDev - If you have a swimmer notebook, please take and write down goals for the month, thru December, and for the SC season.
- If you do not have a swimmer notebook, please gather a composition book, a pen, and put it in a gallon size baggie and put that in your swim bag.
- The swimmer notebook should have in it you names, what you like best about swimming, notes on your best times, and notes on time standards for JO, Sr Classic, WAG, FW, Sectionals etc.
One last thought – character counts when everyone is watching and when no one is watching. Here are my thoughts on simple swimmer expectations (maybe even print this out and put it in your swimmer notebook):
1. Be on time
2. Be prepared
3. Be helpful
4. Be part of the team
5. Be a positive reflection of the team
6. Finish what you start
7. Pursue personal excellence
If you have questions, please let me know but I think you will hear from me again within the week.
