Dave's notes 10-27
USA Swimming Registraion:
If you're new (started this fall) to CAST. Welcome. Please remembr that all new swimmers need to register with USA swimming in order to train with the team. We also cannot enter you in meets prior to you registration. Click here for information on how to register. Also all athletes that have a 2022 registration will need to get their 2023 registrations prior to the end of the year.
Meets:
Please remember to check and keep an eye on the events calendar. Swim meet entries are usually due 11-12 days prior to a meet, and we don't know that you want to go unless you sign up. If you're not sure if a paricular meet is for your swimmer - please ask a coach.
Also - if you went through all of the meets earlier in the year and committed to a bunch of them in advance, you will be entered (assuming the athlete is qualified). So as your plans change, if you're no longer available for a meet, please uncommit so we don't enter you. Once we send an entry in to the host team, the cost of your entry is paid to the host (whether you swim or not).
CAST hosted B/C meet November 5-6
We have 46 swimmers signed up to attend our meet! This is likely to be a big meet. (I am guessing 5-600 swimmers). We will know by this weekend. We take pride in running great swim meets. The biggest task is running a snack bar to feed everyone. But there are many other jobs as well. In all it will take 250-300 hours of work to fill all of the jobs. As a reminder we have re-instated our CAST service hours that were suspended when COVID hit. Please take a look and sign up.....If this meet is not one you can be at, we are hosting another in late January (21-22) that you can put on your Calendar. Most jobs are easily trainable in just a couple of minutes.
Parent Zoom meeting
With a huge meet coming up shortly, I just wanted to have a short zoom meeting in order to make sure we're prepared and all on the same page. If there are non-meet questions, I'll be happy to address them as well. I anticipate a 20 minute meeting.
