Bullying
Cast is committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for our members. Bullying can take many forms (verbal, physical, social media, etc). Anyone who is a target of bullying or is aware of bullying or other inappropriate behavior is encouraged to let someone know: a parent, a coach, a board member or person with whom they are comfortable.
If bullying does occur, incidents will be dealt with promptly and in line with USA Swimming expectations and guidelines. We would like to encourage all parents and guardians to have conversations with their swimmers regarding acceptable behavior and treatment of others.
USA Swimming membership reminders
Memberships expire on the 31st each year. Many have not yet renewed for 2023. Please don’t delay.
Here is a list of CAST swimmers and when their registrations expire AS OF 12/14. If yours says 12/31/22 please take the steps below to get registered for 2023 prior to the end of the month.
Instructions to register with USA swimming.
Ice Skating
One of the almost-traditional events for CAST is a team ice skating event during Christmas break. This year on Thursday the 22nd from 6-8 pm we’ll have it again at the Kroc ice center. This is for CAST swimmers, their friends, and family members.
The normal cost is $20. CAST has been quoted $12 (bring cash) for all who enter under the CAST umbrella of (swimmers, family, friends) given they all enter within 20 minutes of each other. So please plan on arriving at 5:50 so CAST members can congregate outside and head in together when they open. If you come late, you may have to pay the full price.
CAST Hosted swim meet January 21-22.
Save the date. We are hosting a B/C meet in January at Helix High School. We want all swimmers in Novice, Age Group, to participate, as well as any other swimmers with B and C times from the SD and SR groups.
If your swimmer is not used to going to meets, we really encourage you to enter them. Swimming in meets gives purpose to the practices, allows for growth and learning in a way that you cannot get from practices alone, and also gives coaches a much better picture of what each swimmer needs. So please plan on attending if you’re available.
To enter, log onto the castswim.com website and hit the edit commitment button for the meet, then commit your swimmer. If there are any special notes (like “must leave by noon on Sunday”) please make sure you put it in the notes section.
Thanks
Coach Dave
