MRA meet this weekend
MRA swim meet info.
The meet is at Granite Hills HS. The meet this weekend is a pretty big meet 430 swimers on Saturday and 540 swimmers on Sunday. The timelines are pretty good for this number of swimmers: about 1:00 on Saturday and 1:30 on Sunday.
Due to the large number of swimmers, there are 3 x 30 minute warmup sessions for the teams to get the kids warmed up. We have been assigned the early warmup both days. So swimmers need to be in the team area at 7:00 AM each day.
Special note: Some of the newer swimmers are only swimming the 100 freestyle on Saturday. If your swimmer is ONLY in the 100 free, and you wish to come in at 9:30 AM instead of 7:00 AM, YOU MUST CONTACT ME (coach Dave) no later than 11pm on Friday night to let me know that you will be coming in later on Saturday, so I can check your swimmer in. Check in closes at 8:30 AM. If you haven't contacted me, and show up at 9:30, you will not have been checked in, and no longer in the event, and will have travelled out there for no reason. Conversely, if you ask me to check your swimmer in, and I do, and you then decide not to show up for the 100 free, your swimmer will be scratched from their next event, even if it is the next day. I just wanted you to know the "why". If you do e-mail me to have your swimmer checked in, pelase show up at 9:30 and have your swimmer report to me when you arrive. castcoachdave@gmail.com
Also, if you are someone showing up later on Saturday, please take note of this when signing up for jobs, so you don't commit to a job that starts before you plan on arriving. (like canopy delivery, or the first timing slot).
Swim-O-Rama
Please keep in mind tha donations are due by next Thursday. Even though the swim is over, you can still go out and get donations. Here is a letter to solicit donations. Aunts and uncles, family friends, businesses, co-workers, ... The top earners every year don't just pay themselves, they get others to donate.
The Current leader has over $500 in donations turned in.
The top prize is 2 swimmer/months dues + $200 Amazon gift card.....the prize alone can be worth up to $550.
The practice calendar for the month is up under the "schedule" tab on our website. I'm not putting a link, because I want people to navigate there, so they know where to find it.
Finally, I want to mention again that all communication that goes out in e-mail to the entire team also gets posted under the "news" tab. So if you remember reading about something, but don't want to go hunting for it in your e-mails, just go to the team website - news.
