Meet Jobs
It takes a lot of work to run a meet. Even though this is a short meet it takes a lot of people. We need you to help!!!!!!
All of the jobs are simple, and most require no training. Below are a few explanations:
Friday night setup: After practice on Friday night we need peeps to help unload the u-haul and set up the pool. This either takes me and 3 people 45 minutes, or takes me - alone - 3 hours. Please help. especially if you have swimmers practicing Friday afternoon, driving to helix and helping for a short time will be a tremendous help.
Sat AM check in table: Very Simple - but extreemely important job - checking in the kids for their events. 3 minutes to train, and the job is over at 8:30 am, so you get to sit with a few teammate parents and make friends before the meet starts.
Snack bar: We're running a very limited snack bar (pretty much just snacks, so no cooking) but we need help serving people.
Announcer: Just announce the heats - it's fun. and you get to watch all of the action.
Awards: simple - sticking labels on ribbons and organizing into team bags, very neccessary for kids to get their ribbons.
Deck marshall - you get to wear a bright vest and keep kids from diving into the warmup area or messing around. We need one for safety.
Head timer: sounds complicated, but it's really simple. All you do is start 2 spare stopwatches in case a timer doesn't get theirs started - then exchange your running watch with the timer.....happens a couple of times an hour.
Runner: super simple - post heat and lane assignements on the wall, post results on the wall, and pick up timer sheets at the conclusion of an event.
The job signup is online on our site.
I will send out more of the actual meet information later tonigh.
Thanks for helping -
