Welcome to the new season! We are coming off our two week break, and rolling right into our new '24-'25 short course season. What's on the horizon? Team Hike Saturday 8-31: This saturday there will be a team hike - Cowles mtn (map here). This is an informal event that all families and friends are welcome to attend (dogs on a leash are allowed on the trail). We will be meeting at the base of Cowles mtn at 7:30 am this Saturday. Plan on about an hour for the event....

This is the San Diego meet Calendar for Fall and Winter '24-'25 short course season. We may be attending additional out-of-town meets for different levels- those additional meets will be added by early September - but this should give team members a general idea with the San Diego based meets. ----a few notes and meet info---- The rescheduled just-for-fun meet will be this Thursday afternoon at the Kroc center. A little untimelimely lightning last week caused us to postpone. This is for all AG, all novice, and all summer swimmers. Thursday night during practice time (except you'll need to be there 15 minutes earlier than normal). News Notes and Nuggets 1) Copy and paste error. There is an error in the published schedule for tomorrow. Novice has a regular practice 6:00- 6:45 pm Kroc. 2) Change for summer league / fun meet. The League of multiple teams (CAST + 3 other teams) never really materialized for this summer. So we are going to bump Saturday's summer league meet to this Thursday night during practice time. This week is the week of the local age-group championships at BBMAC pool in Coronado, which triggers a couple of workout exceptions. So I'll start with those..... Thursday Just-for-fun Location: Kroc Center On Thursday we will have an intersquad just-for-fun meet from 4:30 - 6:30ish (Please arrive at 4:20) for anyone on CAST that is not swimming in Thursday's events at the age-group championships. This includes all summer swimmers and year-round swimmers.This is in place of your normal practice. So especially Novice and AG swimmers need to take note so...

Team suits are in. If you ordered a team suit through the special order from two weeks ago, please see coach Dave at the pool. Your CAST account will be billed. The SI Long Course Championships (JO's) begin on Thursday afternoon and run through Sunday. The meet is at the BBMAC pool in Coronado. The Summer League meet tenatively scheduled for this Friday has been rescheduled and will be an "all available CAST swimmers" intersquad meet next Thursday afternoon. Basically all CAST swimmers who are not competing in JO's (the SI Long Course Age Group Championship meet (now you know why I still call it JO's)) on the night of 7-25, will have a Just-for-fun intersquad meet. 4:30 - 6:30 PM on that night.
